30-Minute Workouts

by Gordo Byrn

These are my current “go to” workouts when time is tight (or motivation is low!).

I always feel better after one of these.

Swim

  • 600 every fourth length non-free
  • Twice through the following:
    • 4x25 band only
    • 4x25 alternate Fast (or Fly) with relaxed Backstroke
  • Easy swimming to get to 30 minutes

Choice rest on everything

Bike

  • 10 minutes easy spinning, slowly build effort
  • 20 minutes alternate by minute as Fast / Easy

Run

  • Choice effort on a treadmill for 30 minutes
  • At 10-/15-/20-/25-/30-minute marks, hop off and do five burpees

Gym
Leg press pyramid

  • Two plates - 25 reps
  • Three plates - 20 reps
  • Four plates - 15 reps
  • Five plates - 10 reps
  • Six plates - 5 reps

Either continue 5 reps sets until fatigued or head back down, reducing plates and increasing reps, choice rest

Remember that something is better than nothing!
